“We see this service as another way to pay back the country, the industry and the customers that have been so good to Detex for so long”, said Carl Dean, National Training Manager.
Detex’s first registered program is a comprehensive session on doors and hardware code related applications. While Detex primarily focuses on Grade 1 latching products such as exit devices, alarmed exit locks and electrical security products including low energy operators and electrical door monitors; this session covers much more. Topics include basic products like coordinators, flushbolts, and astragals.
This lively session provides nuts and bolts information about the selection of types of doors, frames and hardware to make openings code compliant. The complications, conflicts and numerous exceptions of various codes as well as deciphering manufacturers’ catalogs add to the designer’s dilemma in selecting the right combination of these products. This session uses three decades of experience in working with all phases of construction from owner’s wish list right down to the trades people who install the products. This class is suitable for the recent graduate as well as the veteran who has been away from academia for some time.
This session is for both the design professional who has no door and hardware experience as well as those seasoned veterans who still have that eerie feeling when they see a hardware schedule or a pair of RHR double egress doors. If you don’t know the problem with the last item this is a must attend program.
All that is required on your part is pad of paper and a No. 2 pencil.
